We are a system integration and smart energy services company in Amsterdam, looking for a full-time Lead Front-end Developer to join the existing development team. Someone with 6+ years of front end development work, proficient in Typescript, experience of leading a team and who can bring talent and enthusiasm.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Spectral is seeking a talented Lead Front-end Developer to join our core team. The role involves:

• Leading a small Scrum team of developers
• Overseeing and actively contributing to the development of new and existing front-end applications and libraries
• Defining the long-term technical strategy for front-end development at Spectral
• Contributing to the development of our internal engineering culture, guiding the adoption of best practices and mentoring developers
• Collaborating with the other software teams within Spectral
• Ensuring the team is aligned with the wider stakeholders

Work location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

ABOUT YOU

You are passionate about front-end and Typescript. You keep updating with the latest front-end technologies and trends. You have a solid theoretical and practical understanding of how SPA’s should be built. You are a good communicator who can express complex technical ideas clearly, both to your technical peers and laymen alike. You should be opinionated but respect other people’s ideas and be open to new practices. You enjoy mentoring and leading others. You are highly motivated to join us on our mission and contribute your skills and efforts to solving the complex challenges related to the energy transition.

MUST-HAVES

• 6+ years of front end development work
• Leading a team
• Typescript
• Vue.js (strong candidates with experience with other modern MVC style JS frameworks will be considered)
• Sass or Less
• Automated testing
• Git
• Fluent in English

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Building user-friendly and performant visualizations of time-series data
• Interactive 3D models (preferably using Three.js)
• Building enterprise design systems and component libraries
